Today’s Harvest is a free market that provides fresh produce, meat, dairy, and bakery items we rescue each day from local grocery stores, farms, and other partners.
Shopping at Today’s Harvest
You arrive at our stores and grab a cart. If we are busy, we may hand you a pager that will buzz when a cart is available for you to use.
Once you have a cart, you can follow our signs which will tell you how many items you can take from each location. These signs are typically located above shelves and fridges. If you have any questions about what to take, please ask our volunteers.
When you are done shopping, you will head to the check out, roll your cart onto the scale, and follow the prompts on the tablet. We will ask for your household size and zip code. You can optionally provide your phone number to save your information for your next visit.
After you are done weighing your cart, all you need to do is bag your groceries. It’s that easy!
Where does the food come from?
Our food comes predominately from food rescue. We receive food from local area retailers that is close to expiring, but still safe to eat. You can learn more about food rescue here.
Because we rely on food rescue, every day at Today’s Harvest looks different! We are constantly restocking to ensure a variety of food throughout the day.
Why do we have limits for items?
At Today’s Harvest, we want to create equitability so that regardless of the time you come to shop there will be a selection of food to choose from.
You can find these limits on the top of fridges, freezers, and racks. The number on the sign indicates how many items you can choose from that whole section, not items per shelf.
If you ever have questions while shopping at Today’s Harvest, please feel free to find a volunteer or staff member to help you!
